Cosmetic Dentistry

Cosmetic dentistry involves any dental procedure done mainly to improve a person’s appearance. This is done by improving the shape, size, surface or alignment of teeth, gums, and sometimes even bone. MunjalCarere Dental strongly believes that everyone deserves a winning smile. Hence, we take great care to give our patients the latest and most effective tools and procedures in cosmetic dentistry. At MunjalCarere Dental, your smile is our main priority, and we can help you improve it with any number of these techniques:

Teeth Whitening

At MunjalCarere Dental, we use the Zoom2 in-office whitening system, which utilizes a special light designed to speed the whitening process under a controlled environment.

Clear braces or Invisalign is the clear alternative to traditional metal wires and brackets to align out of position teeth. They can be removed while eating, drinking, and brushing.

The procedure requires placement of very thin white porcelain veneers on the teeth to improve their shape and surface appearance, and even fill small gaps between teeth. They are a permanent alternative to tooth coloured restorations which require periodic maintenence.

The application of white resin or plastic material to teeth to change the size, shape or colour of a tooth.

If you’re in need of having your smile brightened or straightened, MunjalCarere Dental is the right cosmetic dentist for you. Your smile can often be your most important feature as it is the first thing people notice about you. So give MunjalCarere Dental a call today, and we will give you something to smile about.

Teeth Whitening

Teeth are naturally white – or nearly so. They come in many shades, but the overall impression of brand-new teeth (such as those of small children) is shiny, translucent white.

Unfortunately, over time as teeth become more absorbent, they can become dull and discoloured from coffee, tea, wine, berries, cigarettes, medication, excessive fluoride, or just normal aging.

In-Office Teeth Whitening

If you dream of returning your teeth to their original whiteness, consider our Teeth Whitening service. This choice is best for healthy, original tooth surfaces, especially if the undesirable colour is yellowish. Zoom2 lightens enamel and dentin. Naturally, it will have no effect on caps, crowns, or other artificial surfaces, so the colour needs to be carefully monitored.

Zoom 2 Teeth Whitening System

At MunjalCarere Dental, we use the Zoom2 teeth whitening system - the ideal solution for busy professionals. In just over an hour, your teeth will be dramatically whiter. Compared to home whitening methods, this method is fast, long-lasting, and especially gentle on sensitive teeth and gums. Controlled application of a whitening gel in a custom made and properly fitting tray results in a better outcome with less post-operative sensitivity in contrast to home whitening systems.

Zoom 2 Procedure

  • There is a short preparation to protect lips and gums.
  • We apply the Zoom2 whitening gel and turn on the Zoom2 light of a certain wave length to increase the power of the gel.
  • After 15 minutes, you’ll have a short break, followed by two more 15-minute sessions.
  • During your sessions at MunjalCarere Dental, you may listen to music, or read your favourite book.
  • Results

The whitening effect lasts for up to three or four years, as long as you continue your good dental hygiene, and regular professional cleanings.

You may love the idea of having straight, even teeth, but not the idea of wearing metal braces!Invisalign® clear braces are the non-metal alternatives to traditional braces, with no uncomfortable brackets or wires. Virtually invisible, they do not attract attention. What people will see is your smile, and only your smile.

Like traditional braces, the Invisalign® system handles crooked, overlapping or crowded teeth, wide spaces, over-bite, under-bite, and cross-bite.

Unlike traditional braces, they are transparent, and are removable for brushing, flossing, eating, or even taking a break to attend a special occasion.

How Does Invisalign® Work?

Invisalign® uses a series of clear, removable aligners to straighten your teeth without metal wires or brackets. Each aligner is custom-made for your teeth.

You wear each set of aligners for about 2 weeks, removing them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss (or for those special occasions). As you change to each new set of aligners, your teeth move gradually into their final ideal position.

How Long Does the Invisalign Process Take?

The total treatment time for Invisalign averages nine to fifteen months, and the average number of aligner sets used is between eighteen and thirty. Each case is different, so both the time and the number of aligners may vary.

There are some Invisalign cases that require very little correction. The special program called Invisalign Express® requires a maximum of ten aligner sets, and a minimum of twenty weeks, plus any required time for a retainer program. This special technique is also applicable to rebound cases, for people who have had braces in the past.

Though, an alternative to traditional braces, it may not be the right treatment option for your teeth and a quick consultation with us can give you an idea as to what to expect regarding the post-operative outcome.

Other Benefits of Invisalign

  •      you will make fewer trips to your dental or orthodontic office, since there will be no adjustments of fixed metal brackets or wires.
  •     You can enjoy all your favourite foods, since you won’t be wearing your aligners while you eat.
  •      x-rays, cleanings, and some other procedures previously not possible while wearing metal braces are not prevented by Invisalign®.
  •      Since aligners are upgraded every two weeks, the process is comfortable, gradual and painless.

Veneers are extremely thin and very light shells, usually custom-made of porcelain, and then bonded to the fronts of teeth to change their colour, surface or shape. If you have minor defects in your smile, you may be able to correct them without a major dental procedure (such as crowns).

Some of the minor defects that can be corrected with veneers are teeth stained on the inside, stains that have not responded to tooth whitening, slightly crooked teeth, oddly-shaped teeth, uneven tooth surfaces, chips, gaps, and fillings that have become discoloured with time.

With veneers in place, your teeth will appear straighter, whiter, and more even. Veneers are usually made by a dental lab technician, working from a model provided by your dentist. We can show you the likely outcome of veneers with the wax-up of your model prepared by trained lab technicians.

Advantages of veneers

  • Highly stain-resistant, even to coffee, tea or cigarettes
  • Natural in appearance
  • Longer lasting and with better colour retention than dental bonding
  • Less invasive than crowns
  • Returning structural integrity to damaged teeth
  • Possessing a translucence similar to that of natural teeth

On the other hand, the placing of veneers is usually irreversible, because it is necessary to remove a small amount of enamel from your teeth to accommodate the shell.

Dental bonding

Dental bonding is a technique for repairing damaged areas of your teeth with a composite resin, which is available in a wide variety of shades so the colour of your teeth may be matched.

What can be fixed?

  •    The size, shape, orcolour of teeth may be improved
  •    A chipped tooth may be seamlessly restored
  •    A short tooth may be lengthened to go with its mates
  •    Gaps between the teeth may be eliminated

Dental bonding is also a less-invasive alternative to crowns. Bonding makes possible the re-contouring of your whole smile, and also it can be done in one appointment when time is a concern.

How is Dental Bonding Done?

The dentist prepares your teeth and then applies the bonding paste to repair defects. After application, the composite material is exposed to a light of certain wavelength, which cures and hardens it.

At that point, the area is sanded, buffed, and polished to appear and feel like the surface of your natural teeth.

Advantages of Dental Bonding

  • Although the materials used for dental bonding are not as durable as the materials used for veneers or crowns, there is the advantage that the bonding procedure can usually be completed in one appointment
  • Another difference is that bonding is accomplished without the services of a separate dental laboratory
  • With a relatively simple procedure, minor defects can be corrected
  • The material blends in with your natural teeth, so there is no interruption in your smile

For these minor problems, it may be difficult to choose the best option. Call us for a consultation.
